Drawing for Games week 3

21/10/2011

This week we were guided through a tutorial of using Adobe Photoshop CS5s 3D tools. We were tasked with creating a 3D sphere (pool/snooker ball).
Although firstly we tested our abilities with the 3D tools by creating a 3D set of text and then playing around with multiple layers of text and making them 3D, adding glows and other basic effects.

Images of the results are listed below.
Step 1, creating the basic 3D text on a plane.

Step 2, Creating a basic multi-layered text in 3D. (photoshop crashed before I could save)
Step 3, Attempting to create a 3D sphere.

Drawing for Games week 2

14/10/2011

This week Marciel was called to meetings and so we were set to learn with Chris Gorvin.
Chris asked us to design our own landscape and cityscape, quickly brainstorming we thought up a few ideas of what might effect the scenery, our brainstorm ideas are listed below.

Aspects of Creating Concept Art

Perspective
Linear and Aerial
Landscape, desert mountains, swamp, etc.
Time of day
Townscape - Architecture - materials/textures
subject, culture, props, colour, lighting, period.

We were given an extra task of research, so that we may find ideas and aspects that could help us to figure out what we're going to include within our drawings.

These tasks were all put down onto paper.
